Am Institut für Strategisches Management ist eine Doktorand*innenstelle mit Dienstbeginn im Frühling/Sommer 2022 zu besetzen. Mitglieder des Instituts können Publikationen in High-Impact Journals wie Administrative Science Quarterly, Technological Forecasting & Social Change, MIS Quarterly, Review of Managerial Science, Organisation Science und European Journal of Innovation Management vorweisen. Wir sind stolz auf unsere partizipative und innovative Lehre und unsere erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit mit wichtigen Unternehmen aus der Region.
Als wichtiger Teil dieses Teams wird der*die erfolgreiche Kandidat*in ein eigenständiges Dissertationsprojekt zum Thema Open Strategy oder Open Foresight entwickeln und umsetzen. Im Kern geht es hier um die Frage, wie – mit welchen Regeln, Praktiken, und Technologien – Organisationen es schaffen können ihre Strategieprozesse für neue Menschen, neue Themen, und/oder neue Werte zu öffnen. Das Dissertationsprojekt wird durch Univ. Prof. Dr. Waldemar Kremser und Assoz. Univ.-Prof. in Dr.in Regina Gattringer betreut werden. Bei der Umsetzung des Dissertationsprojektes wird der*die zukünftige Stelleninhaber*in davon profitieren, dass das Institut für Strategisches Management sehr gute Beziehungen sowohl zur regionalen Wirtschaft als auch zur internationalen Spitzenforschung in den Bereichen Strategie, Organisation, Wirtschaftsinformatik und Computer Science hat. In der Rolle als Doktorand*in wird er oder sie intensiv dabei unterstützt werden, sich in der internationalen Spitzenforschung zu positionieren (z.B. durch gemeinschaftliche Publikationen, Konferenzbesuche, Integration in bestehende Forscher*innennetzwerke). Verpflichtungen in Administration und Lehre sind moderat und können inhaltlich mit dem Kompetenzprofil des*der Bewerber*in abgestimmt werden.

The Institute of Strategic Management invites applications for the position of a Ph.D. candidate starting in Spring/Summer 2022. Members of the institute have published in high-impact journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly, Technological Forecasting & Social Change, MIS Quarterly, Review of Managerial Science, Organisation Science, and European Journal of Innovation Management. We take pride in our participatory and innovative teaching activities and our strong working relations with important players in the regional economy.
As part of this team, the successful candidate will write their thesis on Open Strategy or Open Foresight. The goal will be to improve our understanding of how – with which rules, practices, and technologies – organizations can be empowered to open up their strategy process to new actors, new topics, and new values. In this endeavor, the candidate will be cosupervised and mentored by Univ. Prof. Dr. Waldemar Kremser and Assoc.Univprof. Dr. Regina Gattringer. In developing their profile as a researcher, the Ph.D. candidate will profit from the institute’s well-developed professional networks both to important actors in the regional economy and to international top scholars in the fields of strategic management, organization theory, information systems, and computer science. Next to the opportunity to collect first experiences as an academic teacher, the candidate will receive support in their efforts to become a top researcher with a strong international network (e.g. through collaborative publications, conference visits, active participation in established professional networks).
