UNIVERSITÄT POTSDAM - W1 AI-based Business Information Systems

The University of Potsdam, Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, invites applications for the following position to be filled as soon as possible: Junior Professorship (W 1) for AI-based Business Information Systems (without tenure-track)

The position is limited to a non-extendable term of six years. We are looking for an individual with an outstanding PhD degree, preferably in business informatics, business administration or computer science, and a proven track record of international peer-reviewed publications and/or submissions currently undergoing an advanced stage of the review process in the field of applications of artificial intelligence in the area of application systems in business and administration or a related area of business informatics. We also expect applicants to have experience in conducting design-oriented or empirical research projects. An outstanding commitment to university teaching is required, as is a willingness to acquire external funding. An ability to connect to the university’s research on business informatics as well as to the university’s research focus Data-Centric Sciences is also required. Openness to interdisciplinary cooperation within the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences as well as with the Institute of Computer Science and the Digital Engineering Faculty would be particularly welcome.

The successful candidate will be required to teach in German and English in the degree programs of the faculty and must be willing to participate in academic self-government. Non-German-speaking appointees are expected to acquire proficiency in German sufficient to be able to interact with all colleagues, students, and staff within two years.
