The University of Liechtenstein is a state university according to Swiss standards. The Information Systems division at the University of Liechtenstein focusses on digital innovation and transformation, taking a distinct process science view to cover the many dynamics and various facets of digitalization relevant for economy and society. Team members regularly publish in international top journals such as Management Science, Management Information Systems Quarterly, Information Systems Research and Journal of Management Information Systems, as well as practice-oriented outlets such as Harvard Business Review, California Management Review, and MIT Sloan Management Review

Core Profile

The candidate is expected to competently represent research, teaching and transfer in the field of Information Systems:

Topic: The profile is expected to have in-depth knowledge of the core elements of the design, use and value creation of Information Systems in organizations. In addition, specialization in one (or more) direction(s) is expected, which will be determined based on the successful candidate's background. Candidates will be given preference who can demonstrate a fit of their specialization with the regional requirements of the Liechtenstein economic area and society.

Teaching: Active in an inspiring educational environment, candidates should bring experience with innovative teaching and learning formats, as well as a high level of enthusiasm for teaching and the personal development of students. The professorship will contribute to teaching on all levels, undergraduate, postgradudate and executive level.

Research: Committed to research excellence, the professorship regularly contributes to internationally recognized and highly ranked publication formats. Research contributions have impact and advance the profile of the university and the country. The professorship brings experience in successfully securing research funding from national and international research foundations.

Transfer: As an entrepreneurial university in a vibrant economic area, candidates should demonstrate that they can successfully communicate and cooperate with representatives from business, society and politics. The professorship develops contributions of relevance to society. The professorship brings experience in successfully acquiring and delivering projects with industry.

Leadership: The professorship takes responsibility in the scientific community and has a good network of international partners. The candidate is expected to develop international visibility in his/her field. It is also expected from the professorship to commit to university leadership roles as they will arise in course of the further establishment of the professorship.

Cooperation: Committed to economically and socially relevant problem solving, the professorship works in an interdisciplinary manner, contributing Information Systems competences to the collaboration with other disciplines both at the university and beyond.

Qualifications

Completed doctoral degree and evidence of professorial qualification, demonstrated by, for example, tenure evaluation (or habilitation) or equivalent record.
