The School of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) invites applications for the position of Head of the Institute of Data Engineering. The successful candidate is expected to represent Data Engineering in their research and teaching at TUHH. Qualified applicants must have an excellent track record in research as well as a strong interest in interdisciplinary collaborations with engineering institutes at TUHH. We particularly welcome applications from scientists with a research focus including, but not necessarily limited to, one or more of the following areas:
The institute is also expected to provide expertise in research data management in coordination with existing RDM infrastructure at TUHH’s library, to collaborate with RDM activities in TUHH’s cluster of excellence BlueMat, and to represent TUHH in bodies like NFDIxCS.
As the Head of the Institute of Data Engineering, the successful candidate will teach courses in Computer Science, Data Science and related degree programs, at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Active involvement in curriculum development and innovation at TUHH is expected. Proficiency in teaching undergraduate courses in German is an advantage but not mandatory.
